Subject Notice of hearing on GO Bonds for street and water
improvements
Following my conversation late today with Duane Pitcher, I have prepared the notice that is attached to
this email, with respect to the issuance of General Obligation Bonds for street and water improvements.
The purpose of this hearing is to enable the City Council to adopt a pre-levy resolution prior to the actual
issuance of the Bonds, putting a debt service levy in place along with the new budget.
This notice must be published once, not less than four nor more than twenty days before Feb. 26, the
date of the hearing.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED ACTION TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR
THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION CORPORATE PURPOSE
BONDS IN A PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $6,892,573
The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, will meet on the 26t" day of February, 2008,
at the Council Chambers, City Hall, Ames, Iowa, at-5-qk�'(Al) o'clock in. for the purpose of
instituting proceedings and taking action for the issuance of Gener 1 Obligation Corporate
Purpose Bonds in an amount not to exceed $6,892,573 for the purpose of paying the cost, to that
extent, of constructing various street and water improvements.
The Bonds, when issued, will constitute general obligations of the City.
At such time and place the City Council shall receive oral or written objections from any
resident or property owner of the City. After receiving objections, the City may determine to
issue the Bonds, in which case, the decision will be final unless appealed to the District Court
within fifteen (15) days thereafter.
