C Re: Ames, Iowa General Obligation Refunding Bonds General Obligation Fire Station and Refunding Bonds Our File No. 419370-23 Dear Diane: We have prepared and enclose proceedings for the October 23 Council meeting to set November 13 as the date for the hearing on the issuance of the Refunding Bonds and as the date for the sale of the combined issuance of Fire Station and Refunding Bonds. As we do not yet have the amount of the refunding, please note that the enclosed resolution and notice must be completed with the amount of the Refunding Bonds prior to adoption and publication. As soon as we have that amount, we will advise you and provide completed proceedings, but we wanted you to have these forms as soon as possible. The proceedings enclosed with this letter are as follows: Minutes of the October 23 Council meeting to fix November 13 as the date for the hearing on the Refunding Bonds and the sale of the combined issue, with resolution following. The form of notice of hearing is set out under Section 2 of the resolution, and an extra copy is enclosed for delivery to the publisher. Certificate attesting the transcript. Organization Certificate. —DORSEY & WHITNEY L L P Page 2 Certificate as to the City's outstanding general obligation indebtedness. We have filled in the information from our records to assist you, but please check this against the City's records and make any necessary additions or corrections. 5.1 Certificate as to publication of both notices, to which must be attached the pubh§her's affidavits of publication with clippings of the notices as published. The notice of hearing must be published at least once and not less than 4 nor more than 20 days before the meeting date set for the hearing in the Ames newspaper. As soon as we receive the necessary additional information, we will prepare and forward the Notice of Sale for publication in the Ames newspaper. Please ask the newspaper to provide us with a proof of the notice of hearing as soon as one is available so we may check its sufficiency. As soon as possible after the Council meeting, please return one fully executed copy of all of the completed pages in these proceedings, except the certificate attesting to the publication of the notices (the last page of the proceedings).
