Re: Ames, Iowa
Not to Exceed $5,405,000 General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds
Dear Jill:
We have prepared and enclose proceedings for the May 26 meeting to enable the Council to
set a date for the hearing and for the sale and issuance of the captioned Bonds. Please note that these
proceedings have been prepared on the assumption that the hearing will be held on the same date as,
but immediately preceding, the sale of the Bonds on June 9.
The proceedings enclosed are as follows:
1. Resolution fixing a date of meeting at which it is proposed to take action for the sale
and issuance of the Bonds and providing for the advertisement of such sale.
The notice of hearing is set out under the resolution, and an extra copy is enclosed for
delivery to the publisher. As soon as we are advised of the final amount and maturity schedule for
the Bonds, we will complete and forward the Notice of Sale for delivery to the newspaper.
2. Certificate attesting the transcript.
3. Organization Certificate.
4. Certificate as to the City's outstanding general obligation indebtedness. We have
filled in the information from our records to assist you, but please check this against the City's
records and make any necessary additions or corrections.

5. Certificate as to publication of the notices,to which must be attached the publisher's
affidavits of publication with clippings of the notices as published.
Each of the notices must be published at least once, not less than 4 nor more than 20 days,
before the meeting date set for the hearing and sale in a legal newspaper of general circulation in the
City and located in Story County or in a contiguous county.
As soon as the notices appear in the newspaper, please have clippings forwarded to our office
so we may check their sufficiency.
As soon as possible after the Council meeting, please return one fully executed copy of all
of the completed pages in these proceedings, except the certificate attesting to the publication of the
notices (the last page of the proceedings). Please return that page to us after you have received the
publisher's affidavits with respect to the notices.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call.
V67 truly yours,
i I
